On 12^th February 2017, the GMBA cohort specialising in IT and a few selected Undergraduate students keen to pursue technology and business visited the Microsoft Technology Centre located at Dubai Internet City for an interaction with the Developer Experience (DX) team to understand the business overview of Microsoft and the key role in plays in the UAE & GCC market.

The Digital Transformation Conclave 2017, held on the 8th of Feb at the Raffles Hotel, in partnership with Microsoft and Protiviti, saw a confluence of great minds from the IT and business worlds of the Middle East. Professionals from leading organizations came together to discuss and share the emerging digital trends needed now and in the future. In the current era, key technologies are driving digital transformation across industries. Disruptive technologies used in services and products will accelerate the growth of digital transformation. Understanding and adapting to these changes and their associated challenges is one of the top priorities of businesses today. Aptly themed ‘Leading Digital Transformation’ the conclave witnessed business leaders and change agents participating in panel discussions titled ‘Enabling Digital Transformation’ and ‘Driving Business Advantage with Digital Transformation.

The Nanyang MBA Olympics, hosted by Nanyang Business School is a volunteer interscholastic one-day sporting event that gathers the top MBA schools of Singapore (Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), INSEAD, Singapore Management University (SMU), ESSEC, S P Jain School of Global Management) in a friendly sports competition on 5^th February, 2017.

SPJ Toastmasters Club held their 6^th meet on the 10^th of June 2017, with the focus on Women Empowerment. The event was attended by various EMBA cohorts (Batch 32-40), and saw a brilliant start by the Sergeant at Arms, TM Arti Thanki, followed by an equally engaging and thought provoking Presidential Address, by the President of the club, TM Parmita Debnath.

The 3 guest speakers invited by Prof Shrinivas Shikaripurkar included Harsh Gandhi (Executive Director, Gujarat Reclaim & Rubber Product Ltd), Homi N Daruwalla (Chairman, IGBC; Deputy Chairman, CII Energy Efficiency) & Cristiana Peruzzo (CSR Specialist, Innovaid India).

The Centre for Policy Development & Analysis, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Indonesia was on a field trip to India to understand the Indian perspective on this grouping of nations. They visited the Mumbai campus of the SP Jain School of Global Management to discuss and share ideas on the future of the IORA.
