Bringing Colours, Fun and Music to Yoga at SP Jain Singapore

Embarking on a new program could be stressful at times even when you live in the city call home. Imagine being in a foreign country pursuing your studies. To help student combat stress at SP Jain’s Singapore Campus, the Global Learning Team collaborated with Art of Living to conduct a Yoga Jam session that combines yoga and fun.

Swaying to the tunes of Navratri – BBA Jags indulge in a cultural evening at Mumbai

On 26th September 2017, SP Jain’s Mumbai Campus organised a cultural evening for the BBA Cohort, celebrating Navratri. Navaratri is a Hindu festival celebrated for nine nights and ten days in the autumn of very year. The festival is celebrated in the bright half of the Hindu calendar month Ashvin, which typically falls in the Gregorian months of September and October.

Bondi to Coogee Walk– BBA Students participate in a Global Learning experience

SP Jain’s BBA Students recently undertook a cliff top coastal walk in Sydney as a part of their Global Learning Experience. The Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, featuring stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays, and rock pools.

BBA Jags represent SP Jain as Peace Envoys with Metropolitan YMCA, Singapore

Twenty students from SP Jain’s BBA cohort represented SP Jain to join Metropolitan YMCA (MYMCA) as Peace Envoys in promoting World Peace on Wednesday, 20th September. MYMCA is committed to nurturing children and developing youth by engaging them in meaningful causes and activities, which was showcased in the event. ‘Embassies of the World’, as the event was called, is an initiative by Metropolitan YMCA in collaboration with United Nations Global Compact Network Singapore (UN GCNS).

Revolutionising the Global Logistics Industry – PG Students interact with Hubert Igbinoba

On 19 September 2017, SP Jain’s PG students specialising in IT Management and Global Logistics & Supply Chain Management got the unique opportunity to interact with Hubert Igbinoba, the Director of Change Freight Forwarding. Having completed a Mathematics and Industrial Mechanics Degree in Nigeria, Hubert emigrated to Australia, bringing with him this strong entrepreneurial spirit. Hubert then went on to a 5-year sting as the General Manager of a Talent Company post his further studies in Business Management.

Technology Disrupting Finance - A talk with Anuraj Gambhir on the Finance Innovation in Australia

On 19 September 2017, SP Jain’s Sydney Campus hosted Anuraj Gambhir for a talk on 'Technology Disrupting Finance'. Anuraj has work experience in various areas from hands-on technical roles to senior executive management positions and is regarded by many as an industry visionary. He has worked with numerous prominent companies including NASA/JPL, SingTel Optus, Logica/Aethos, T-Mobile, Orange, GSM Association, Sharp, Siemens mobile, Spice, Ericsson, and MTS.

Sales Leadership – An Interactive Session with Rachel Bourke at SP Jain, Sydney

On 18 September 2017, SP Jain’s Sydney Campus hosted a talk by Rachel Bourke on the techniques that outline what it takes to overcome your fears and lack of finesse in networking opportunities. Rachel Bourke is an inspirational facilitator, speaker and peak performance coach, teaching others the most effective techniques for optimal performance, influence and sales success.

Interacting with Chris Hall – BBA Students participate in a Gallup Strength Seminar

On 16 September 2017, SP Jain’s Sydney Campus hosted Chris Hall (Speaker, Gallup Strengths Strategist, Owner - Be What You Want), who conducted a Gallup Strengths Seminar for the students. Chris Hall is a strategist who is passionate about uncovering the futures that inspire individuals, and works with people to bring aliveness and alignment in their work lives. The seminar gave SP Jain students the unique opportunity to gain the competencies to identify individual strengths.

‘Reinvent Yourself’ – SPJ Toastmasters Meet

SPJ Toastmasters Club – Dubai completed their 12th meet on 9th September, 2017. Unlike the previous meets, the 12th meet also included attendees from SP Jain Dubai’s BBA cohort, bringing a lot of youth and vitality to the group.

A day at SMAAASH – BBA Mumbai Team Building Activity

On the 8th of September, 2017, SP Jain took the BBA 2017 cohort to SMAASH as a part of a team building activity.  The day was scheduled for only fun and no studies, taking a break from the rigorous day-to-day schedule and getting to know each other. The students were accompanied by Miss. Archana Yadav (Event Manager) and Miss. Sailee Parodkar (BBA Coordinator).

Each student was given a card to use for any game they wanted to play. Following this, everyone was divided into teams and taken to the bowling alley. Many from the cohort were bowling for the first time while many others needed help perfecting the skill. The unity of the team was seen when the cohort came together helping each other learn the skills and had a lot of fun while doing so. The students bonded over chats and photo-sessions, getting to know each other much better. After the initial bowling session, the students went on to play various other games where their batchmates cheered them on.

SP Jain Singapore Campus Welcomes the New Jags of 2017 – The Global Journey Begins

This year, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of SP Jain School of Global Management welcomed around 185 new Jaguars from 27 different nationalities including China, South Korea, India, Mauritius, Mexico, Russia, Southeast Asia, and Europe, among others.

While it is their first time in Singapore for many, a large number of students are also experiencing their first time living away from home. The Jaguars of 2017 have come together for their journey with SP Jain, learning and living in three different megacities of the world—Singapore, Dubai, and Sydney— immersing themselves in various environments, cultures and situations, becoming independent global business leaders. The new Jaguars will not just interact with people of different backgrounds, but also experience these new backgrounds first-hand.

Meeting the Mentors - Toastmasters Excom and Mentor Quarterly meeting

Seven months ago, at the start of their Toastmasters journey, the SPJ Toastmasters Club was matched with their talented mentors, TM Phillip and TM Love.  “They both changed our lives, as we evolve as Toastmasters, enhancing our communication and leadership skills. We are so grateful that they took us under their wing”, said the Team as they met their mentors for an American breakfast spread at the Denny’s restaurant on 2nd September, 2017.
