SP Jain Dubai Campus Launches the Centre of Excellence for Happiness

On 20th March 2018, SP Jain’s Dubai campus launched the Centre of Excellence for Happiness. The SP Jain Centre of Excellence for Happiness is a re-imagining of how individuals can best work and live together using core principles from the latest research findings from the Science of Happiness. The key focus areas of the Centre are creating happy communities through strategic academic and corporate partnerships, regional as well as international research, happy events (Conferences, Research Seminars, Workshops, Trainings, as well as providing independent Coaching and Consulting services), and student happiness programs. We envisage that these initiatives will eventually translate into working closely with the Government of UAE & Dubai in as many initiatives as possible, since the Government is keen on promoting Happiness across different sectors and communities.

SP Jain Model United Nation 2018 at the Singapore Campus

SP Jain’s Singapore campus hosted the SP Jain Model United Nations (SPJMUN) Conference 2018 between 16th to 18th March. The event was inaugurated by Dr Usen Suleimen (Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Singapore) and Mr. Lee Kwang Boon (Deputy President of the United Nations Association of Singapore).

Cryptodynamics – EMBA Masterclass with Hansel D’Souza at the Singapore Campus

Hansel D’Souza, SP Jain’s Adjunct Faculty, was the Guest speaker for an EMBA Masterclass at the Singapore campus on 14th March. The Masterclass was titled “Cryptodynamics - The Art of Setting Goals and Achieving Them”.

SP Jain Xpressions – Alumni Come Together at the Singapore Campus

On 22nd February, our Singapore campus saw another successful round of SP Jain Xpressions. The speaker for the session was EMBA alumnus Azhar Othman, Regional Managing Director at Enercon Asia Pte Ltd. He spoke on the topic "Mind your Future; Success Starts from the Present".

During the session, Azhar shared how he saved a company that was on the verge of closure and turned it around to a multi-million-dollar business spanning across Asia.

How E-Commerce Logistics Is Changing Cities - Charles Brewer Speaks at the Singapore Campus

In a very engaging and interactive guest lecture at the Leadership Hall of SP Jain Singapore, the CEO of DHL e-commerce, Charles Brewer held a session with students on “How E-Commerce Logistics is changing cities” on the 22nd of February 2018. He discussed how cities of the future will work differently, and at the heart of their success will be the efficiency urban e-commerce. Initiating the session by talking about the current status of the e-commerce industry in different marketplaces, he gave the students a broader understanding of the power of the e-Commerce industry and its associated future potential growth.

Students & Staff Participate in the Annual Spring Reception 2018, Singapore

On 18th February 2018, Students and Staff from SP Jain’s Singapore campus were invited by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) to join them in the Annual Spring Reception 2018.

The festive event was a great opportunity to expose students to the local Chinese culture, as well as the diversity within the Singapore society. Co-organised with the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), over 800 guests were invited to the event, including political holders, foreign dignitaries, Chinese community leaders, and youth.

BBA Jaguars visit TATA Power’s Hydro Plant, Lonavala

The BBA Mumbai students got an opportunity to visit Tata Power’s Hydro Plant at Valvan, Lonavala near Mumbai on 17th Feb 2018. The Jaguars were first taken through a session on TATA’s sustainability values and practices by Mr. Vivek Talwar (Chief Sustainability Officer) and other senior management members of the team. The objective of this industrial visit was to create an awareness amongst the new generation about sustainability, innovation, and environmental bio-diversity.

BBA Students at Mumbai Organise Inizio – An Intercollegiate Culture Festival

Between 14th-16th February, BBA students at the Mumbai campus organised Inizio – a student driven intercollegiate cultural festival. Students worked tirelessly, spending multiple weeks on planning the events and themes, coordinating and inviting other colleges, managing the operations and creatives, and create an event that truly represented the BBA Jaguars.

India in Dubai - UG Students at Dubai Visit Consulate General of India

Undergraduate students of SP Jain Dubai were invited to the Consulate of India in Dubai on 16th February to share their insights and feedback about their experiences as Indian students in the UAE.

Students met with Sri Vipul, Consul General of India in Dubai. Indian diplomat Vipul, who has taken office in 2017, has previously worked as a joint secretary at the office of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for the past three years. He had earlier served at India’s diplomatic missions in Cairo, Colombo, and Geneva. In his diplomatic career, he has worked in diverse departments including political and commercial relations, development, disarmament, international security and media.

Supply Chain Challenges in Telecom Industry by Dr. Mirza at Singapore Campus

SP Jain Singapore students had the opportunity to attend an enlightening guest session by Dr. Kamish Mirza, Head of Supply Chain Management, Asia Pacific region for Ericsson Telecommunications Pte Ltd. on the 15th of February. The focus of the discussion mainly revolved around how innovation is affecting the supply chain. Talking about the basics of the supply chain, Dr. Mirza also explained Ericsson and its complexity in detail. Moreover, students got a brief understanding of the Internet of Things and supply chain opportunities and challenges.
