FLEXIBILITY TO WORK while studying in Australia
Australia offers brilliant opportunities for international students to work part-time on a student visa (the national minimum wage in Australia is currently AUD 20.33 per hour). Working part-time is a great way for students to build new skills, gain meaningful work experience and improve their chances of finding full-time job opportunities.
Students can usually work up to 40 hours per fortnight while their course is in session. If you have dependent family members included on your student visa, they are also eligible to work 40 hours per fortnight.
Temporary relaxation on hours you can work
The Australian Government has announced a temporary relaxation of working hours for those holding student visas. Students can now work for more than 40 hours per fortnight. Please check the temporary changes to student visa work conditions for the latest information.
