How indian B-Schools are shaping graduates for a tech-driven world

In an article published in Business Today, discover how B-schools in India are actively rethinking their strategies to thrive in a job market reshaped by digitisation and generative Artificial Intelligence (AI). While the highest salary offers have recently dropped to INR 54.8 lakh, the lowest in six years, this change presents a valuable opportunity for institutions to innovate and equip their graduates with essential skills.

As a result, B-schools are actively focusing on technical and cross-functional skills, particularly in data analytics, digital marketing, and AI.

Nitish Jain (President, SP Jain School of Global Management) remarked, “You need to reverse-engineer the skills your students have so that they fit into industry needs.”

Several other experts also shared their perspectives in the article, advocating for a greater focus on hands-on experience and industry partnerships to ensure graduates are ready for the workforce.

To adapt to these changing demands, B-schools are now implementing several key changes that include:

  • Revamping their curricula, introducing mandatory courses in Python and ESG.
  • Collaboration with industry professionals to align education with market needs.
  • Push for practical learning experiences, with a focus on using generative AI in teaching.
