How financially intelligent are we? For students of the Master of Applied Finance and Wealth Management (MFWM) program, a recent guest lecture by Khyati Sotta and the ICICI Bank team challenged conventional notions of financial success and encouraged a deeper understanding of personal wealth management.

Through an interactive discussion on Financial Quotient (FINQ), students were encouraged to think beyond income and consider the habits, decisions, and behaviours that influence long-term financial well-being.

The session challenged common assumptions about money, exploring why rising incomes do not always translate into growing wealth. Using relatable examples, the speakers highlighted how lifestyle choices, social pressures, and short-term spending can quietly undermine financial goals.

The MFWM students also gained practical insights into planning for different life stages, understanding their financial responsibilities, and making the most of time as an investor. Discussions around compounding, wealth protection, and investment planning reinforced the importance of taking a long-term view of personal finance.

By connecting financial concepts with everyday realities, the session offered a fresh perspective on wealth management and encouraged students to think more intentionally about their financial futures.
