On 29th July, the Indian government approved the National Education Policy.

Schools and universities in the UAE welcomed India's new educational policy, hailing the reforms as 'futuristic' that will eventually make the country a great study destination for all.

Dr Arindam Banerjee (Associate Professor and Deputy Director – Global MBA & Master of Global Business, SP Jain) shared his insights in an interview with Khaleej Times, a leading English language newspaper in the UAE, explained the implications.

“"This policy will have a serious impact on the Indian expatriate student population. With the inclusion of vocational courses as early as Grade 6, students will start getting acquainted with real life skills as compared to rote learning methods"

He added that the policy is a clear indication that Indian education will gradually move from an existing commoditised good towards a public good.
