What is the key to becoming a more effective worker? Prof Christopher Abraham, Professor and Head of Campus (Dubai), SP Jain School of Global Management shared his hacks to boost productivity in Mumbai Mirror, a leading daily newspaper published by The Times Group, on May 23, 2019.

In the article titled ‘6 hacks to boost your productivity’, Prof Abraham and other experts highlighted how smart prioritising, eliminating distractions and effective time management can make you more productive at work.

Prof Abraham shared that one of the factors eating away our productivity is the tendency to switch between tasks, where our brains are automatically fooled into believing that something is better or more important because it is new. This becomes a problem when you have a job to do within a limited timeframe. It takes our brain an average of 26 minutes to shift focus on trivial interruptions and back to the task at hand, he said.

He further added, “Chunk, don’t multitask. The chunking technique is more effective than multitasking as it prevents information overload and keeps you from feeling overwhelmed.”
