Just before I joined SP Jain’s EMBA (delivered online via ELO), I was very close to signing up for a full-time on-campus program. But that involved a lot of changes. I had to put my career on hold. So, I decided to explore an online program. This is one of the best decisions I have taken for my education. It’s given me the flexibility to continue working. I didn’t have to move houses or move to a different state.
The faculty selection for each of the subjects was par excellence. Being experts and highly renowned in their respective fields, each of them shared their valuable experiences and knowledge with all of us. Global Immersion Project and Applied Business Research, the ‘crown jewels’ of the program, gave me the opportunity to test my learning and understanding from the program.
The SP Jain EMBA (on-campus) has empowered me to experiment with my leadership skills using Strategy, Quality Management and Personal Effectiveness tips and tricks. The Global Immersion Project and sessions on Corporate Finance, Research Methodology, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Management, among others, have helped me expand my knowledge base and make winning decisions at work after considering a multitude of cross-functional factors.
Between juggling a career of being a project manager and the role of a mother, an online MBA helps me balance the two worlds. The ELO technology has been wonderful. We're sitting in the comfort of our house with our family and, at the same time, we're engaging with the class and the professors; so, there’s that one-to-one feeling. It's a virtual class environment where you don't feel lost. There's a lot of cold calling. It's two-way communication.
Attending classes on campus would have been difficult for me as I travel extensively around the world for my work. My first ELO experience was at Singapore airport. I attended the first lecture of my course from Ecuador. When I was in the Pacific Islands for almost three weeks, I attended two complete modules. No matter where I am travelling to, I have that flexibility and connect with my class. I never felt that I’m missing the class; I’m already in class!
The SP Jain EMBA (on-campus) offers you the flexibility to attend classes during weekends and focus on your work and family on weekdays. The program provides a lifetime of learning. Not only has it improved the quality of my work, but it has also helped me step out of my comfort zone and made me a confident and effective speaker.
One of the benefits of the SP Jain EMBA (on-campus) is that it increases your awareness and gives you a 360-degree view of business. The group assignments and classes I undertook as part of the program exposed me to so many different and unique ways of approaching a problem. It broadened my vision in terms of arriving at the ultimate solution.
The SP Jain EMBA (on-campus) helps you evolve, and I say this out of experience. It teaches you about emotional intelligence, IQ, how to think and how to be strategic. You are able to see challenges with more objectivity and understanding.
